Azure Account Onboarding Questionnaire

As part of our commitment to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for our clients, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) that may arise during the Azure account onboarding process. This information is crucial in helping the DigitalEx/partner team understand the needs and expectations of our clients, thereby providing a comprehensive and enjoyable onboarding experience.

Q1: What is the monthly spend on Azure resources?

This helps us understand the scale of operations and the resource allocation required for your account.

Q2: What type of Azure account does the client have?

There are several types of Azure accounts:

  1. Direct CSP/MCA (Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider/Microsoft Customer Agreement).

  2. Indirect CSP/MCA or via a reseller.

  3. EA (Enterprise Agreement).

Knowing the type of account helps us tailor the onboarding process to suit your specific requirements.

Q3: Is cost export enabled for the client's Azure account with the following settings?

  • Metric type: Actual cost

  • Export type: Daily export of month-to-date

  • File partitioning: enabled.

Note: It is recommended to use an existing export, and our automated on-boarding script is designed to detect and utilize an existing export when on-boarding the billing account. Regardless of whether you have prior exports or not, we can capture the historical cost through Billing APIs.

Q4: How many subscriptions does the client have?

It is necessary to onboard each subscription individually. This allows DigitalEx to continuously discover resources and collect key metrics for providing insight, optimization, and security recommendations. Although cost ingestion only requires billing account onboarding, resource discovery requires onboarding each subscription separately.

Q5: In what currency is the invoice generated?

The currency of the invoice has implications for billing and financial tracking.

Q6: Does the client have billing accounts that use multiple currencies, such as two billing accounts in different currencies?

DigitalEx supports multiple currencies which is configurable from DigitalEX UI

Q7: In the case of an indirect CSP/MCA/reseller type of Azure account, does the client have access to billing level information?

If the client does not have access to billing level information, they will need to onboard the subscription as a billing account. Please note that an automated option is not currently available for this process.

You’re understanding and cooperation with these questions will significantly enhance the onboarding process and ensure we can provide you with the best possible service.
