Redesigned Cost Allocation Feature
DigitalEx is pleased to announce the redesign of our cost allocation feature, making it more intuitive and powerful, designed to help you create hierarchical structures for your costs using Cost Allocation Segments and Units. These segments enable you to map costs to various organizational entities such as business units, teams, applications, or services. Beyond segments, the unit level will allow you to allocate cost even further as needed by your business. Budgets can now be setup directly in the cost allocation page at any level which will allow you to track your expenses in one place. Finally, a cost allocation dashboard for the cost allocations can now be launched from the cost allocation report at any level. From here you can assess your costs further similar to the cost dashboard.
Please note that the existing cost allocation feature will be sunset. All data from the existing page to the new page will be migrated by DigitalEx. Please discuss with your Customer Success Manager for more information.
Bulk Ticket Creation
We are pleased to announce that we now support the ability to create multiple tickets at once for tracking or initiating action within the DigitalEx. This feature allows you to create up to ten tickets at once for savings recommendations and for anomalies. When multiple tickets are created simultaneously, you can add notes or additional context to each ticket individually if needed. Once created, tickets can be found in Backlogs and within the integrated ticketing system, if applicable.
Anomaly Insights & Resource Utilization BETA
Anomaly details can now be accessed for each detected anomaly. These details provide comprehensive information, including the date of the anomaly, resource specifics, and resource utilization over time for further investigation. By viewing the date of the spike and the associated costs, this feature helps you quickly investigate and rectify anomalies. This tool is currently in beta status and has to be turned on by your Customer Success Manager.
Visibility Management for Perspectives and Cost Allocations
You can now manage the visibility of individual perspectives and cost allocation reports using Teams. This ensures that only users with the appropriate permissions can view specific allocation and perspectives data. This feature enhances data security and access control. It streamlines team management and data visibility within your organization.
Default Perspective for User
DigitalEx will now allow you to set your default perspective for a personalized experience per user. Similar to setting a preferred home page, this enhancement ensures that you see the most relevant information with fewer clicks every time you log in.
Kubernetes PVs Support
We have enhanced our Kubernetes platform to display persistent volumes (PVs) costs on the k8s cost dashboard. Additionally, we've improved the k8s onboarding page, allowing you to enter CPU, memory, GPU, and volume costs per hour.
Dynamic Filters
Page-level filters on all our pages and when building perspectives have become easier than ever with the option of a dynamic filter. For example, if a user were to select ‘Provider = AWS’ in the filter, then the available options in the other filter fields will automatically update based on this selection. Dynamic filtering ensures a more intuitive and efficient user experience, helping you quickly find the information you need. This feature can be toggled off and on within the filter window by utilizing the checkbox as seen below.
Other Enhancements
We've also made several other enhancements across the platform to improve your experience with DigitalEx. Some of these improvements include:
AWS Console Links
From the resource dashboard page you can quickly access the AWS Console with direct links. This enhancement simplifies navigation and saves time by providing immediate access to the AWS service you need.
VMware Static IP Configuration During Onboarding
This feature allows users to configure a Static IP during onboarding if DHCP is not enabled, eliminating the need for additional effort after the appliance is set up in the customer environment.
Azure Billing Entity
This feature allows you to filter Azure Marketplace purchases, making it simple to see all costs incurred from marketplace transactions. It helps you distinguish between the costs of Azure services and Azure Marketplace purchases for increased granularity.
Support for Azure Credits and Taxes
We have enhanced our cost dashboard to display Azure credits and applied taxes. This feature helps you distinguish between usage costs and credits/taxes applied to your Azure bill.
