Single Pane of Glass for Cost Dashboard
The main cost dashboard now offers the ability to display the combined costs of on-premises infrastructure and public cloud in a single, unified interface. With this unified interface, users can gain a comprehensive visibility of their infrastructure costs and simplify cost management, making it easier for them to monitor, track and optimize their costs, all in one place.
Azure Reserved Instance Utilization
The Reserved Instance Utilization page has been enhanced to include support for Azure Reserved Instance. This update enables users to view the combined utilization rate of both AWS and Azure reserved instances purchased, providing them with valuable analysis and insights into their overall investments in Reserved Instances. By leveraging this feature, users can identify opportunities for optimization and assess the effectiveness of their RI usage, allowing them to optimize their usage and achieve significant cost savings.
AWS Amortized Cost Option
A new cost option has been introduced to allow users to view their AWS reservation costs as monthly and daily amortized costs. Amortization refers to the process of distributing one-time reservation costs across the billing period affected by that cost, allowing users to view their costs in accrual-based accounting instead of cash-based accounting. This option is now available across various cost-related functionalities such as Cost Dashboard, Budget, Alert, and Chargeback.
Datacenter Resource Details Panel
A new resource details panel has been added for VMware resources, enabling users to view metadata and metrics of a specific resource. This feature provides users with more detailed information regarding the resources, as well as CPU, memory and disk usage and performance metrics over time. By leveraging this feature, users can identify any potential issues and take necessary measures to optimize their datacenter infrastructure.
Datacenter Cost Ingestion Enhancements
We have added several new enhancements related to datacenter cost, resource and utilization insights functionalities. These enhancements have improved the end-to-end cost ingestion and metering processes, resulting in more accurate cost calculations and insights. Additionally, we have also added a simple cost entry interface that enables users to quickly and easily input and modify cost of individual host, or input them in batch.
Account Onboarding Enhancements
We have made several enhancements to our account onboarding functionalities to further streamline the onboarding experience and reduce the time it takes for users to realize the value of our platform. Some of these enhancements includes:
Immediate discovery of associated usage accounts right after the AWS / GCP billing account onboarding, which enables users to onboard the usage accounts immediately after.
Added automation support for Azure billing account onboarding at the subscription level, which simplifies the onboarding process for users.
Added CLI onboarding guide documentation for Azure billing accounts and subscriptions, which provides a shorter and simpler options for users who’d choose to onboard manually.
